The University of Texas Police at Houston offers CPI non-violent crisis intervention training designed to teach best practices for managing difficult situations and disruptive behaviors. This training is specially geared toward healthcare professionals, nurses, and clinical practitioners to learn how to identify at-risk individuals and use nonverbal and verbal techniques to defuse non-violent and potentially violent hostile behavior, although training is beneficial for anyone who interacts with the general public. This type of training not only contributes to the mission of utmost safety for the patients and visitors that visit our institution, but also, the safety of clinical staff.
