In August of 2019, University of Texas Police at Houston's Executive Director and Deputy Chief Security Officer Ray Gerwitz was invited to serve on the ASIS Healthcare Security Council (HSC).

As a member of the HSC, Gerwitz will promote and represent ASIS International to key audiences with the goal of increasing professionalism in the field of health care security. Additionally, Ray will be appointed to an HSC committee and serve as a source of information on health care security best practices while promoting the organization’s certifications, and educational efforts and training.

ASIS International is the world’s largest association for security management professionals, a true global community of security practitioners, representing industries in the public and private sectors, and organizations of all sizes. The organization offers a range of education programs, publications and events.
